When arborists take down a tree, the wood has to go somewhere. A Drop Request tells them you're happy for some of it to come to you.
What to expect
- Free or cheap
- It's a by-product of their work, so it costs you little or nothing.
- Unsplit
- Rounds straight off the tree, or chips. Splitting is up to you.
- Usually Green
- Freshly cut wood needs a summer or more to season before you can burn it. Why that matters
- No choice of timing or type
- It arrives when there's a job nearby, and it's whatever tree came down. You might wait a long time.
