NeighbourwoodGet firewood

Privacy

Neighbourwood follows the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This is what that means in practice.

What we collect

When you send an Enquiry, we collect:

  • your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number
  • where you are (the nearest town or Locality, not your address), how much wood you need, when you'll burn it, delivery or pickup, any wood preferences and your notes

A Drop Request collects your contact details, your Locality, what you can take and your notes about access.

We also record how you found us: the website that linked to us, and the campaign tags on the link (for example, that you came from a Facebook post). Your browser keeps that note for the length of your visit. We don't use advertising trackers.

Why we collect it

To match you with a local Supplier, and to count how many people are looking for wood so we can decide whether Neighbourwood is worth building properly.

Who sees it

A real person at Neighbourwood reads every Enquiry. We share your contact details and Enquiry only with the Supplier or Suppliers we match you with, and only because you've said we can. We don't sell your details or give them to anyone else.

Our database and email providers store information for us. They may hold it outside New Zealand.

How long we keep it

Only as long as we need it to match you and count demand. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your details

You have the right to ask for the information we hold about you and to have it corrected. To see, correct or delete it, email geoff@acquire.co.nz. We'll reply within 20 working days, as the Act requires.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
